Gamification Toolbox for Rookies

As part of the Game On Level Up! initiative, we have developed the Gamification Toolbox for Rookies, an online training course designed to introduce VET trainers to gamification and serious games. This short-cycle course empowers educators with the knowledge and skills to integrate game-based learning into their training programs, making lessons more engaging, interactive, and effective. Through a combination of hands-on activities and real-world examples, this course provides practical tools to enhance teaching strategies in vocational education.

Earn Your Microcredential in Gamification for VET

The Gamification Toolbox for Rookies is structured into six interactive modules, each focusing on different aspects of gamification and serious games in education. At the end of each module, learners complete a short test to earn a digital badge, recognizing their progress and newly acquired skills.

Once all six badges are collected, participants unlock access to a hands-on challenge on the micoo.app, where they can apply their knowledge in a practical scenario. Successfully completing this final challenge grants them a microcredential, an official certification of their skills in gamification and serious games for VET.

What is a Microcredential?

A microcredential is an innovative tool for learning and teaching, focused on validating specific skills and competencies. Unlike traditional qualifications, microcredentials allow learners to gain recognition for targeted expertise, making them ideal for professional development in fast-evolving fields like digital education.

How to Access the Course and Earn Your Microcredential

Step 1: Register on the Learn.Micoo Training Platform

We have now unlocked free user registration for the Learn.Micoo training platform! Follow these steps to enroll in the Gamification Toolbox for Rookies course:

  1. Click on the “Create New Account” hyperlink at the top right corner to access the New User page: learn.micoo.app/login
  2. Fill in the registration form
    • Set “English” as the Working Language
    • Insert “GameOnLevelUp” as the Enrolment Key
  3. Once registered, log in and access the GOLU modules

Step 2: Complete the Course and Earn Badges

  • Each module contains engaging content and a final test
  • Upon completing a test, you will earn a digital badge
  • These badges unlock the skills validation section for each module

Step 3: Unlock and Claim Your Microcredential

  • After completing all six modules and earning all six badges, you gain access to the final hands-on challenge on the micoo.app
  • A teacher will review your skills validation check to assess your ability to apply the skills
  • Once validated, the system automatically generates and awards your microcredential
